MINUTES OF THE MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF
03 November 2008 as transcribed from wave files of the same date Opening Ceremony: 1st Vice Commander Stennis, standing in for the excused Commander Abney, called the meeting to order in proper form at 19:35 hrs on Monday 03 November 2008, at the Post home with the POW-MIA flag being in place. Roll Call of Officers: The roll call produced a quorum. 6 Officers and 1 Executive Committee Member (ECM) answered the Roll Call. Commander Abney, Historian Rein, Chaplain Morgan, Sergeant-at-arms Denes and Trustee Dillon are excused. 2 Executive Committee Members (ECM) positions, the 3rd Vice Commander and the Adjutant are vacant. 3 Post Members attended the meeting. Reading of the minutes: 1st Vice Stennis call for a reading of the minutes of the prior meeting. Judge Whiting Read the minutes. 2nd Vice Gladen moved for acceptance of the minutes as published. With a 2nd from Comrade Smolinski, the motion passes. Introduction of Guests: Rex Buchs, Keith Biel and Rick Duruttya of Squadron 336 are guests. Reports of officers: 1st Vice Commander: 1st Vice Stennis reports 80% of quota. He has 1 US Army veteran for membership; a Daniel J Foresc from Mentor-on-the-lake. Comrade Smolinski made the motion to accept and Trustee Babic seconds. The motion passes. Judge Whiting moves to accept the 1st Vice report, Trustee Smith seconds and the motion passes. 2nd Vice Commander: 2nd Vice Gladen reports that 08 NOV is cabbage rolls; 10 NOV is USMC B-day (18:00 Dinner 19:00 social) and 11 NOV is Veterans Day (15:00 to 19:00 dinner...Vets & guest $0, all others $5). The SAL Sqdn. 336 will buy dessert. Past Commander Erb reports that Lt Com McLean will speak. He further asks that all support the cause on 11 NOV 08. Judge Whiting suggests that we begin activities NLT 09:30 hrs. Judge Whiting moves to accept the 2nd Vice report. Motion is seconded by Comrade Smolinski and the motion carried. 3rd Vice Commander: The office is vacant. 1st Vice Stennis reports that A&G testing has begun in all 3 high schools. Color Guard Commander Babic reports Veterans Day as their primary mission his month. Trustee Smith moves to accept the 3rd Vice report. Motion is seconded by SO Chebra and the motion carried. Finance Officer: Brian Rodecker reports for the month of OCT, we took in $xxxx.00 with $xxxx.82 of outflows with a net of $ xxxx.82. Our check book balance is $xxx.66. We got more than $xxxx for our bingo sales. 2nd Vice Gladen moved and SO Chebra seconded to approve the report. Motion carried. Historian: Al Rein has is excused, no report. Chaplain: John Morgan is excused, no report. Service Officer: John Chebra reports no deaths and Comrade Smolinski’s illness. Trustee Babic moved and 2nd Vice Gladen made the second to approve the report. Motion carried. Judge Advocate: Judge Whiting reports several complaints that relate to misbehavior in the Canteen. The Judge will prepare statements of charges and form a board of officers to hear the complaints. He reports that the Canteen front Door was blocked open and his concerns with that problem. Trustee Smith reminds that there is a sign to the left of the door requiring its security. 2nd Vice Gladen moved and Trustee Babic made the second to approve the report. Motion carried. SALAdvisor: Given by Re Buchs, Detachment 2nd Vice, reports a 9th District SAL at Post 336 meeting on 09 Nov 08. Judge Advocate Whiting moves to accept the report as given and 2nd Vice Gladen seconds as the body votes to accept. Trustees: FO Rodecker moves to suspend the reading of their report and accept it as published. Judge Whiting seconds and the membership passes the motion. Charity Committee: Comrade Moore reported the activities of the funding projects. Judge Whiting moves to expend $xxx from Charities for the Marine Corps B-day. SO Chebra seconded the motion that passed. Comrade Smolinski moved and Trustee Smith made the second to approve the report. Motion carried. Pavilion Committee: Chairman Gladen had no reported New Business: None. Old Business: Judge Whiting asks the body to fill the vacant positions as required by the Constitution and By Laws Article 2, Section 6. The vacancy is to be filled by election at this Membership Meeting. Comrade Ronald E Martin, retired Army CW4, nominates himself and is elected by unanimous ballet as moved by Judge Whiting and seconded by 2nd Vice Gladen. Applause... Acting Commander Stennis adjourns the Executive Committee Meeting.
