EDITOR: Violet Cooley - Post -
Commander's Corner.... Greetings, Members of Post #336, I would like to thank the officers of the Post, Ladies Auxiliary, Sons and Color Guard. You all work long and hard for the good of the Legion. I would also like to thank our members for supporting our club by attending all the different functions scheduled during our monthly calendar. In case you didn't know we are one of the strongest Posts in the Ninth District and member participation is a big part of that. We will be having a Membership Appreciation Day, where we offer free food and reduced drink prices to its members. A surprise date will be forthcoming so keep checking the board for more details. We are also looking for teams to start a Corn Hole League. We need to organize a committee to get started since this is something new to our Post, any input that interested members can give us will be much appreciated, so contact Our Canteen Manager if you want to participate. I would like to thank all those who helped with our Post Picnic, your efforts paid off making the picnic a great success. I am still getting compliments on all your hard work. Our Post is headed in the right direction with all officer positions being filled. This is a major plus and clearly demonstrates your devotion to mutual helpfulness. For further success I encourage members to attend meetings, your input is valuable to our Post. If you have any questions please drop them in my mailbox and I will get you an answer in a timely manner. God Bless our Troops and all our American Legion Members.
Derrick Abney
Post Commander
PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND THE POST, SAL, OR AUXILIARY MEETINGS.
THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.
- Auxiliary -
Hello everyone! Just think, three more months and it will be Christmas! Hasn't this year gone fast? The Auxiliary is in full swing again with the hot summer months in the past. We will be doing several dinners, a reverse raffle, children's' parties and of course our Holiday food baskets. Our Sweetheart Raffle will be held October 12th. Tickets are available through any auxiliary member or you can check behind the bar. This will be a breakfast raffle starting at 9:00 a.m. Proceeds will benefit our charities. You can check the monthly calendar for our home cooked dinners. We will be hosting the children's Halloween Party on October 25th. The party will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sign up sheets will be posted inside the canteen. The children's Christmas party will be held December 20th from 1:00 to 3:00. We hope to see all our little ones at the parties. The Auxiliary will be doing food baskets for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. If you know of a family in need, we have sign up sheets available in the Canteen. Your continued support of our Auxiliary functions is greatly appreciated. In closing, may you all have joyous Holidays and remember to pray for our troops and hope that they will be safe in their ongoing efforts to protect our country.

I would like [to] thank everyone for their support with our dinners. As summer comes to an end, and Fall and Winter are just around the corner, let us all remember our troops over seas and say a prayer for them, as the Holidays approach. I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Holiday Season. We had our national convention in Phoenix Arizona this year. Rex Buchs and I had the honor to attend, and had a very-enjoyable time there. We also had a chance to visit some of our other Posts in the area and were treated with open hospitality. We had our Reverse Raffle, which was very successful. Our club picnic, which was in August, had a very good turn out. In closing, I want to say thanks to everyone and God Bless our ladies and guys over seas, giving us this great country, and let them all come home safe.
S.A.L. Commander
Willie Wilson
We will continue to offer meals at a reasonable price. However, we regret, due to rising costs of meat and produce, etc., it may be necessary to increase the cost of some dinners.
Thank you for your continued support.
